How Delhi Arrests Work
Every Delhi arrest by a city officer starts a Delhi Police report. The report comes first. A transfer to the Richland Parish Detention Center adds a sheriff booking on top. The records overlap. They are not interchangeable. A police report can exist with no jail card in view, and a parish booking may come from RPSO, state police, probation and parole, or another agency entirely.
Delhi counted 2,622 residents in 2020. That ranked it second among incorporated places in the census table. The rank sets the city-page map. It does not measure arrests. Delhi's municipal pages offer no daily roster, photo feed, searchable blotter, or lasting arrest archive. That gap makes routing each question to the right agency matter more.
Where Delhi Arrests Appear
No single list covers Delhi arrests. Custody questions go to official RPSO and LAVINE sources. Delhi Police answers for its own reports, and a newspaper story may cover a past week but cannot confirm who remains jailed.
| Channel | Photo | Authority | What it answers |
|---|---|---|---|
| RPSO Inmates | Visible on current cards | Official | Who appears in parish custody now |
| Richland LAVINE | Secondary | Official state-linked service | Status, identity fields, and alerts |
| Delhi Police Department | By request where public | Official | Delhi incident and arrest records |
| Beacon-News archive | Varies | Independent news | Dated parish reports naming agencies |
The current RPSO display offers searchable name cards with images. Charge, bond, time, and release fields are not all confirmed there. The older LAVINE roster format lists name, date of birth, race, gender, and arrest date. It also adds a custody-change control. Neither works as a full historical Delhi arrest log.
Arrested in Delhi Lookup
Begin with custody, not a name index. Richland Parish publishes no same-day booking feed. A roster search therefore cannot serve as a list of people arrested today in Delhi.
- Search RPSO Inmates using the person’s name and inspect only the sheriff-hosted result.
- Check Richland LAVINE if custody status or notification matters. Compare identity fields carefully when names match.
- Contact Delhi Police for the city incident or arrest report. Give an approximate date and incident number if known.
- Check the dated Beacon-News archive for a multi-day account, keeping its publication date and agency attribution.
- If nothing appears, ask whether the person was released, transferred, cited without parish booking, or booked in another jurisdiction.
A missing card proves nothing. Intake can lag. Release or transfer can also remove a current-custody result. The parish arrest and photo explanation covers why booking images and custody records may sit with different custodians.
Delhi Police Record Requests
The Richland 911 agency directory places Delhi Police Department at 304 East Tennessee Street, Delhi, LA 71232. The phone number is 318-878-3788. The linked Town of Delhi site and its frequently called numbers page add municipal contacts. Neither offers an online police-record request portal.
Name the record and the custodian plainly. Ask Delhi Police for an incident or arrest report. For an intake sheet, custody paperwork, or booking photo, go to RPSO or the detention center. Give a legal name and date range. Add the agency and any incident or booking number you have. Ask the office to point to another custodian if it lacks the record. Louisiana R.S. 44:31 and 44:32 set the general public-record path, with law-enforcement exceptions in R.S. 44:3.

Delhi Arrest News Limits
The Richland Beacon-News articles index is the best local archive for Delhi-area arrest coverage. Its recurring parish column names Delhi Police among several arresting agencies. One July 2, 2026 column looked back at an earlier window. The people listed had been booked. They entered the Richland Parish Detention Center. That gives a fixed date range, not present custody. The source article's prior-week presentation can be seen here:
The link shows publication format and timing only. It is not an official Delhi roster.
Delhi Arrest Sources Split
"Arrested by Delhi Police" names the agency action. "Shown by RPSO" names a parish custody record. The two labels differ. A citation may never produce a detention-center card. An RPSO result, though, does not prove Delhi Police made the arrest. Check the arresting-agency label when a source provides one, and request the initial report from that agency.
The split guides later questions too. The parish clerk holds filed criminal proceedings and their outcomes, not the police incident file. LAVINE covers status and notification, not court results. Local press summarizes a prior period, and editorial copy can vanish or change. Keep the source date handy. Move to the clerk's official record when the question is whether a charge was filed or resolved.
Delhi Has No Arrest Feed
The town contact page maps the municipal route. Treat it as a phone list, not a bookings portal. The official town contact source is linked here:
The page offers contact details only. Names, bookings, photos, date filters, and any Delhi Police blotter are absent. Third-party Richland Parish indexes may advertise fresh dates or counts. They are not the city, sheriff, jail, or court. Results can go stale and linger after an official record changes. Check official sources first.
